Why do you think an obviously inconsistent worldview is so common? Better yet, how can we explain the fact that an inconsistent worldview can be elevated to such a high status? Are people not thinking for themselves? Have we forgotten how? I say yes. <br /><br />I was channel surfing one time when I was staying in a hotel with free HBO, and I stopped to listen to Bill Maher's show, and at one point he looked right at the camera and said, "If you're tolerant of other people's intolerance, then you're not a liberal." So, obviously, tolerant, liberal Americans should only tolerate tolerance. If someone's views are intolerant, you shouldn't tolerate them. But how can you be tolerant and intolerant at the same time? What a contradiction! How can a public figure, educated at one of America's top universities, make such a blatantly contradictory statement and still be received by the masses?
